The Benchmarking Learning and Transfer Process adopted in this project involves four major steps:

  1. Identifying major performance gaps in the SME
  2. Analysing and auditing the existing strategy, tactics and operations of the business/management process with the major performance gap
  3. Searching appropriate Planning and Operating Principles generated by the Benchmark practice review of award-winning enterprises
  4. Selecting and applying the best Planning and Operating Principles at the strategic, tactical and operational levels of the business/management process
In this method, the Planning and Operating Principles generated by the observations and findings of the best practices of the 30 award-winning enterprises are the most important and useful link in the whole Benchmark learning and transfer process.
