Objectives
(a) To review, collect, analyse, conceptualise and document best practices in business processes of 30 excellent local business organizations for the purposes of transferring the necessary knowledge and skill to SMEs.
(b) To adapt best practices in business processes to the SME business context, using a representative sample of SMEs.
(c) To capture, create, store and disseminate knowledge and skill of best practices in business processes for SMEs
 
Deliverables
(a) Report on the content, context, and critical success factors for best practices in 30 different business processes, arising from case study on the 30 excellent local companies.
(b) Report on the SME version of best practices, including concept, process and function in 30 business processes for adoption by SMEs to enhance their business competitiveness; A Pilot Scheme to transfer the best practices to 22 local SMEs, helping them to improve business process on the strategic, tactical and operational levels; Two published case books, namely "Hong Kong Benchmarking: Best Practices" and " Hong Kong Benchmarking: Ready for Transfer."
(c) Website on best practices in 30 business processes for SME benchmarking, accessible by SMEs in Hong Kong SAR; Training Manual for Workshop and Content for Seminar on best practice business process benchmarking for SMEs in Hong Kong SAR; and five introductory/promotional seminars or experimental workshops.
